Hello, Non MLM Opportunity Seeker, My MLM Opportunity Is The Best
Last week, I was going through my morning ritual of looking at some social media sites to get some writing inspiration. I came across a highly ranked article on Digg that was talking about some of the most poorly conceived marketing plans (Search Digg for poorly conceived marketing). The gist of the story was about how several major companies had badly missed on some campaigns they were doing from a demographics standpoint.
In light of that, I am going to go over the top 3 things that you must do before wasting time and resources on a marketing campaign that is directed in the wrong direction.
First and foremost, you need to understand the demographics of your market. It won\’t do you any good to be marketing a weight loss product to skinny people who are under 20 if that is not the key demographic. Half of the marketing battle is to be in the right demographic group to present your message.
Next, find out where your target market frequents. A lot of times, you can find places that your targets frequent that are not as highly competitive as some of the obvious places they traffic. A great example for MLM is that everyone knows that Better Networker is focused on MLM. On the other hand, there are tons of other forums that the same people on BN will visit for other reasons or to get other answers.
Finally, we have ideas about where our target market frequents and what their demographic makeup is, we must be sure we say the things that peak their interests and speak to their ills. I am not a great copywriter, but I have been fortunate enough to form some outsourcing relationships with some really good copywriters that can handle this for me. Whether you have the means to be able to outsource or not, you must at least know the basics of copywriting so you will know if you are getting quality or just something that has been slapped together. Regardless of whether you do the writing or not, you will need to do some in depth research into your target market to find out what their pains are. You can search for some online forums and frequent them for several weeks to get an idea of what the important items are to your market. If you can understand your markets pleasures and pains you will be able to speak to that in your copywriting and have good conversions.
I have used the process above to get great conversions on a lot of online marketing projects. I am not a super online marketer, but I know that by following the steps mentioned above I can definitely give myself a better than even chance of success. Also, keep in mind that the steps above are not a one time process, but need to be a consistent part your ongoing marketing. In order to see success selling your MLM opportunity, you need to keep on top of changing conditions and sentiment in your target market.
