Are Old School Multi Level Marketing Recruiting Techniques Failing You?
Old School Multi Level Marketing tactics include most of the ones you are probably already familiar with or at least have heard about. They include techniques such as creating a list of friends and family (known as your warm list), creating a list of everyone you know, working these lists, placing door hangers, sending out flyers, holding meetings at peoples homes or at hotels, leaving drop cards, cold calling, and approaching everyone within 3 feet.
Unless you are one of the very few exceptions, my guess is that these techniques didn’t work for you. If they did, great, and congratulations. However, if they didn’t, you’re certainly not alone. No matter how hard you try, these techniques just do not work for most people in Multi Level Marketing. That’s why there is such a high failure rate in the industry.
Each time I joined a new Network Marketing company in the past, I was introduced to these and similar techniques. While there were slight variations with each company or upline sponsor, the essence of each company’s marketing strategy involved some variation of these tactics. Basically, it all boiled down to calling and bugging everyone I could think of and every new lead to see if they might be interested in an opportunity to make some extra money
But that’s not what happened. People soon would avoid conversation at all cost, not answer their phones nor return messages, and would go out of their way to avoid getting within conversation distance. In other words, I had inadvertently become a member of the NFL (No Friends Left) club.
So what is the typical industry response to NFL (No Friends Left) club members? Buy opportunity leads and start calling them. And so I did.
Yet hostile responses, hung up phones, and just plain more rejections were my reward for following this guidance. And I found that most of these supposedly opportunity seekers were nothing of the sort. Most has no idea how they had gotten on my list and had no interest in anything having to do with Network Marketing.
Now I was getting deeper and deeper into debt purchasing leads and had zero to show for it. That’s right, zero, zilch, nada!
I finally threw in the towel and got out of the industry for a while, defeated and licking my wounds. That is until I ran across a much easier and better method of sponsoring. The new method used the Internet and soon had people coming to me as opposed to me having to go hunting for them.
Using attraction marketing techniques, I soon learned the secrets of offering desirable and useful information to a targeted audience, build a relationship with them and get them to come to me asking to join my program.
So, don’t be held back by obsolete marketing methods, or at least marketing methods that aren’t working for you. Instead discover the new school attraction marketing methods that are working today.
