Build a Strong Downline Team with 5 Simple Tips
Written by Direct Sales Power Network on May 23rd, 2009Your direct sales downline: You’ve got a one or are beginning to build one! This is one of the best parts of being a direct sales consultant, – the fact that you can share your passion for your business with others, help them to earn a little extra money and get paid for helping grow your company as well.
Now that you are a leader of a team, you’ll need to build a strong relationship with team members to not only help them stay strong in their business, but to help your business grow stronger as well. A solid relationship will be one that’s mutually helpful and everyone benefits.
It’s not hard and it shouldn’t take up the bulk of your time. After all, you’ll still have your business to worry about. To ensure a good mlm team, here are 5 easy tips:
1. Begin well. New recruits are a little scared, excited and uncertain–all at once! Make sure they have all their questions answered and know what to do to take the fear out of this new endeavor.
They will feel connected to the company and to you. You should communicate with your new recruit each day she is waiting for her kit. This is very easy to do with an autoresponder system, but can also be done by just copying and pasting into an email message every morning.
2. Give of yourself (for at least 15 minutes a day). Leave them a voicemail, write emails, send out broadcast emails to your group, do whatever works with your team. You can devote a few minutes to those team members who need a little more help. Make a time for a phone conference and stick to it.
3. Even if you have a personal website for your business, make a team website. It is great for communication. You can post new members, meeting dates and updates, etc. Your team can check it at their convenience and it keeps everyone connected.
4. Meetings are essential, but you can set up tele-seminars and host phone call meeting or online meetings. Whatever method you choose, just do it! Your group will falter faster if they don’t feel supported and meetings are the best way to keep them together and involved.
5. Send cards or ecards. Get a box of inexpensive cards and take one afternoon a month to fill out cards and send them to anyone having a birthday, etc. You can also send ecards. They are not as personal, but if you must, they work, too!
The bottom line to getting a strong downline team is to communicate in every way that you can. You will find that your direct sales team members will stay with your company much longer when you’ve fostered a strong relationship by keeping in touch! Much success!
