Easy, join their social network groups, leave nice comments on their blogs and the best way to do it if possible is to head to a live event they are speaking at and introduce yourself. It might sound a little far fetched but it works.
Networking is tremendously beneficial for you and them. But make sure you let them know who you are. Always include your website address when leaving a comment on a blog or social networking site. If you’re advanced enough to do podcasts, why not invite them to be a guest. Again, it’s a win win situation.
Networking Differently
Blogs and forums are not the only way that you can make a useful business connection to promote your expert business status. Join local and online business associations. This is not in name only. Do our part and get involved so that others see your face, hear your voice and notice your work.
Getting involved in these type of associations goes two ways. Giving back is always a good thing but don’t forget to take a little time to get as well. Ask a ton of questions when you can. Being part of a business mastermind group and sharing strategies and tips is a huge perk so take advantage of it.
Don’t neglect the social networking communities. Facebook and MySpace are a lot of fun for connecting with old friends, but they are also big forums for sharing business information. You can post new happenings on your website and links. You’ll be surprised who sees and takes advantage of the news. Invite all of your fellow organizational members as well as clients and other business associates to be your friends so they can view posts to your Wall.
Networking for the sake of your business can really test you at first. But if you stick with it, your chances of being a successful entrepreneur have just increased exponentially.
