Network marketing training is being promoted through seminars, mentoring programs, books, CD’s, DVD’s…many distribution channels. It is easily obtained by the Reps who need the support. Unfortunately, many well intentioned people in the industry are still not succeeding.
The success formula for success in the MLM industry is simple but yet powerful: S + K + M + N = long term, stable success! Very few network marketing training materials address this formula and they should.
S = Skill set. As with any profession, a skill set is required to succeed. In network marketing, there are many types of skill sets necessary to make it. Prospecting, presentation, closing skill sets are all important, however, the lifeblood of any business is leads. A marketing skill set is a must in this day and age of network marketing. Unfortunately, much of the network marketing training out there ignores this skill set and focuses primarily on contacting friends and family forgetting that “marketing” is an essential part of network marketing! Focus on one marketing strategy, learn it, master it, gain consistent lead flow, and then add on another. There are many free marketing methods to learn before investing in the more costly paid methods, like pay per click.
What does a successful leader in network marketing have that new people don’t in the beginning? Knowledge! That is what K stands for in the formula. Knowledge. Success in the industry is a “right of passage” that comes with time and experience. As a distributor matures in the business, his knowledge of how to do the business will surely become one of his greatest assets.
M = Mindset. Personal development is also an essential part of network marketing success and again, many network marketing training materials sometimes omit this. If we fill our minds with uplifting, nurturing, self-development material, our attitudes will improve and as they improve, so will our ability to cope with the challenges of building a network marketing business. A positive mindset attracts success. A negative, pessimistic mindset repels success. A person who succeeds in network marketing must develop this part of the formula by reading and studying material that will help maintain a positive mental attitude.
It takes people to build a large downline in MLM. Network = N. Big network…big commission checks! No network? No money…simple as that. So what to do? As one works on the other elements of the success blueprint defined in this article, one’s network of people will grow as a direct by product. For example, if one masters marketing, their downline will grow! It’s an absolute certainty!
Long term MLM financial success can be obtained by anyone who applies these essential principles. Focus and stay on track and success can be yours!
