Nothing Is Worse Than Getting An Article Sandboxed
Written by Tom E. McMurrain on January 27th, 2010If you want to succeed at article submission or any business for that matter you have to play by the rules otherwise the gatekeepers will throw your articles in jail, you will not pass go and you will not collect your $200. If your reputation is important to you take the time to know the lay of the land before you send your troupes onto the battlefield as each article you submit will be fighting to get you traffic.
Selling with the Resource Box
Are you trying to push products or services with the resource box? This is a sure way to damage your reputation and get into trouble with the article submission site. Instead you should be using the resource box to tell others about your background and expertise. Not that you should be providing your entire resume but just enough information to allow people to begin to get to know you and trust what you say.
Keep It Short, To The Point And Do Not Confuse Your Reader
It is proven that shorter articles keep the readers attention and guide them where long articles only appeal to a very small number of readers. In today\’s information age people do not have 30 minutes to read an article. They have 3-5 minutes so it is important to break your article into three to five smaller article if necessary. This is a real plus for SEO as well
Failing to Get to the Point
Your target audience is probably suffering from information overload which has made them A.D.D., so it is important to keep your article simple and to the point. Focus on your core strengths and tell your reader what it is, what it can do for them and how to take action. Most people are scanning articles nowadays looking for solutions to their challenges. Answer their challenge in a short article and they will jump to another article that you have linked in your article. Guide them through a series of well written short articles and guide them into making the desired decision. For example, the author of this article will break every paragraph of this article into a 300-400 word article. Which of your articles can you do the same?
An Article Is Not A Turkey, Do Not Stuff It With Keywords
Granted good search engine optimization is important and you must use keywords to get your article found on article submission sites and with the search engines. However, too much of a good thing can alienate your readers and decrease the traffic you receive to your site. When you use keywords, place them strategically instead of stuffing the content so full that it is hard to decipher.
Using Website Content
Duplicate Content is a BIG no, no in the business of article submission. If you want credit for your efforts stay away from cut and past. The Search engines are run by mathematical formulas and will sandbox your article if it is the same as other content you have posted on the internet. The extra 5-10 minutes to rewrite is not only a good exercise in rethinking the way you communicate to your readers, but it is also good for SEO. Readers are different so your styles should be too. The bottomline is that duplicate content will hurt your search engine rank placement so avoid it at all cost.
