The Internet Has Changed The Way We Do Business
The internet has dramatically changed our world. The internet has given us the ability to travel through an endless stream of information and take us to places we could only dream of. Talking to someone on the other side of the globe is just a click away. Researching a topic would give you more information then any one person could consume.
The way we do business today has taken the biggest hit from the internet and our world economy. The entrance of the internet has given businesses the ability to grow and spread at lightening speed. This is giving the smaller companies, who would have been left behind, the ability to compete and succeed with their big brothers. The internet gives them the same targeting and servicing abilities as the big guys do, even if you and your brother are the only employees, and your working out of the shed from behind your house. Companies like Google and Amazon started exactly like this. Now look at where they are. They were home based businesses.
Behold The Power of The Internet!
After the crash of the dot-coms back in the eighties, businesses have learned and made the right adjustments for success in today\’s market. Marketing strategies have been changed and the small business can now have a large presence on the internet. Without large vaults of capitol or spending, the internet has provided the means to start a small business today and get it up and going quickly on the global stage. Quite the opposite of a brick and mortar business.
Without an internet presence, it is extremely difficult to survive today, no matter what your business is. If you don\’t need a brick and mortar building to run your business, you will put yourself in a better position to succeed and take advantage of the internet strategies that the big corporations use to bring in large profits and long lines of customers.
Ever hear of Circuit City? With the economic situation in America, Circuit City closed all it\’s stores. Everyone thought that they went bankrupt. They did not. For their survival, they decided to close all of their stores, and just operate their business from the internet. You can still shop at Circuit City, but you must do it from your computer. They no longer have any buildings to keep up or sales people to pay. If the economic climate in America doesn\’t get better, I think you will see more companies taking this route.
Any business, weather it be internet or brick and mortar, takes planning and preparation for it to be successful. You may just want to throw a website together, (they don\’t cost very much), and hit the ground running. I must caution you that there is a 97% failure rate at online internet businesses.

There are marketing strategies that can be used to market your business online, and many of them are free, but you do have to know how to use them and there is some work and training involved into getting them done right if you want to generate a long line of prospects waiting in a long line to get into your website.
