One of the interesting things I have discovered doing online keyword research is that ordinary people are regularly searching the web to discover “who is making money with a blog.” Obviously this reflects a growing fascination in our culture with blogging as a creative exercise, as well as the age old interest that we all share – making money..:-) The internet has, without question, opened up a window to the world in terms of our ability to share our thoughts, ideas and talents with a much greater audience than ever before, and people from all walks of life ( and diverse geographical locales) are profiting from this opening like never before.
Another fascinating dynamic that you will find in the blogosphere, is the incredible amount of community and shared interest that can be fostered, facilitated and profited from while sharing your passion online. The general structure of how people actively extract, find and distribute information on the web allows for an incredibly quick transfer of interesting and compelling information, especially in small niche groups. So even if your passion is as simple as “apple pie” and you make a REALLY good one…you are going to find a whole bunch of new “friends” stopping by to look at your recipes and share your resources with other likeminded culinary queens (and kings!) around the world..:-)
Ultimately this gives you, your recipes, and your blog, REAL value! Plus it’s fun and contrary to what the late, great Andy Warhol once said…in today’s hooked up, wired up and inter-connected world, ANYONE truly can become famous, only now, for A LOT longer than 15 minutes! Happy Blogging..:-)
